Is it possible to install a stove-housekeeper?
For a small winter hike, a thin-walled steel stove is suitable. It will heat a large tent, and transporting a heavy stove in winter makes it easier to use a sled or drag.
It consists of a firebox and a chimney. The firebox door must provide regulation of the intensity of combustion, the entire structure must be airtight.
The furnace case is greatly heated. On the one hand. plus, used as a camping stove for heating a kettle or food. Cons: fire hazard. The wall of the tent near the stove should be sheathed with foil insulation, it is better to make the valve at the outlet of the chimney from heat-resistant fabric. a fire hose or a fireman’s suit.
Installing and heating such a stove is simple. retractable legs are installed, a chimney is passed through a valve on the roof, firewood is laid.
Minus. small battery life, the possibility of reverse smoking when throwing up firewood and strong wind, sparks from the pipe with a strong flame, relatively large weight.
How to make a safe do-it-yourself winter fishing stove. Done quickly. heats up great!
Surely, every angler wondered about heating the tent on winter fishing. Some prefer gas burners, while others heat their tents with candles in the old fashioned way. But how to safely and effectively heat a tent for ice fishing?!
Today, fishing stores offer a large selection of all kinds of heaters for winter fishing. these are gas and multi-fuel or gasoline. However, there is a large proportion of fishermen who heat their ice fishing tent with household wax candles.
How to make a lightweight camping mini-oven with your own hands
Who among us does not like outdoor activities with tents? There are hardly many. And it is not at all necessary to get out into nature only in summer and only in good sunny weather. Many lovers of winter fishing or just connoisseurs of nature in its original form often go out of town to relax from the bustle of the city. However, when it is cool, damp or rainy outside, you need to take care of the warmth and comfort of the tent rest. It is for these purposes that the stove for heating the tent is provided.
The work of the furnace can be dangerous in two cases:
Prevent lighting simply. It is enough not to post flammable items near the furnace, take care of the presence of a special stand under it and blocking the sparks due to the length of the chimney. In addition, the burning firebox can not be left overnight unattended.
Time for which it will cool enough almost until the morning. This is 5-8 hours, depending on what metal it is made of. So, a sheet of tin will cool the fastest, and steel will cool slowly over many hours.
As for combustion products, oxygen is needed for combustion of fuel. If it does not enter the pipe or it is not enough, then the combustion will go slowly. And then you need to increase the thrust, creating an additional flow of air.

It is also important to remember that you cannot cook a barbecue in a tent on the stove, like other food. The resulting smoke and carbon monoxide do not enter the chimney, as they are inside the tent. And to get them out, you need to open doors and windows. If this is not done, then you can poison combustion products.
Ovens for winter camping and fishing on sale there are quite a lot. But if you don’t like the or the quality of the products offered, then you can always make a stove with your own hands from improvised materials in order to provide yourself with such necessary warmth and comfort on a winter night.
A tent heater should be both simple and easy to use. In addition, it must meet several requirements:
- Safety. It implies the absence of dangerous factors for the user. The air in the tent should not be polluted, so it is necessary to exclude the possibility of ejection or spillage of fuel. In nature, far from civilization, there is nowhere to wait for emergency medical care.
- compactness. It is unlikely that anyone would want to carry a large heater or occupy the entire trunk of a car with it. It is preferable to choose a device that is small and easy to transport.
- Multifunctionality. It is desirable that the device can be used not only for heating, but also for cooking, boiling water, drying clothes and shoes.
- economy. An important parameter is the amount of fuel burned. It is unlikely that a tourist or a fisherman will be pleased with the increased consumption of expensive fuel.
You can make a portable heating device for a tent with your own hands using a minimum of tools and materials. Of the simplest options, a candle heater and a Finnish (taiga) candle should be noted.
There are several ways to heat a bed with furnace heating. The easiest of them is to buy a tent with a built-in stove. This design will cost the traveler more, but it has its advantages. Firstly, the tent is already designed for stove heating, it has the necessary holes, as well as an additional layer of fabric to keep warm. Secondly, in some tents built-in stove can be used for cooking. By minuses include the highning of the tent, as well as its bulkiness.
The stove can be bought separately from the tent. In this case, you need to make sure that the fabric of the tent can withstand high temperatures. It is also necessary to measure the length and width of the tent, the distance to the chimney.
The stove for heating the tent should be selected based on several design features.
Round and oval stoves warming the room faster. But most often the design of such a furnace is one-piece, so it is inconvenient to carry it. The rectangular oven can be easily folded.
Mounted stove for heating tent
The assembled and economy oven do not require the traveler’s special knowledge of assembly, as they are already ready for operation. The disadvantage of such stoves is the bulkiness of the design, which makes it inconvenient to carry it with you on a hike.
The oven called the drag has an oval shape; when transferring, you can put things necessary for the tourist into it. Hinged and collapsible ovens are easy to carry, as they have a fully collapsible design. But they also require knowledge in field assembly.
gas stove for tent
Another convenient way of heating is a gas heater. It works with a gas burner. The cylinder and the gas stove itself are easy to carry. Such a tent heater is relatively cheap and safe to use, it can be installed in a tent for winter fishing. The gas heater can be metal or ceramic, depending on the special nozzle.

Heating by fire
If you don’t have a tent with a pipe outlet, you can warm yourself with coals. For this method, only a fire, large stones and a cast-iron cauldron are needed. The boiler can be replaced with a steel bucket with a lid.
To create a stove for heating a tent, you need to make a small pyramid out of stones. It should be overlaid with sticks and brushwood in the form of a hut or house. The fire must burn out completely, during which time the travelers will have time to cook dinner on it. When the fire burns out, you should carefully rake the red-hot stones into the cauldron and cover them with earth. The boiler should be suspended at half a meter or meter from the floor or put into several stones. Such a mini stove is enough to heat a tent for 4 hours.

Heating tents with fuel heater
If you went out into the countryside by car, there is an easy way to make a tent stove. To do this, you will need a double-circuit fuel-powered camping heater. Suitable for both gasoline and kerosene or diesel. The principle of operation of the heater is quite simple: the heat exchanger is heated by the burner and passes air from the tent through itself. The heater itself is located outside a small room, so this camping stove for tents is considered one of the safest to use.
In this way, you can heat the tent for several days. Of course, the design is quite heavy and takes up a lot of space, but it is convenient for transportation by car. So the most significant disadvantage of this heating method is the cost of fuel.
Heating the tent through a pipe
This method of how to make a tent stove is considered one of the best. It allows you to sleep in warmth even in severe frost. But it is suitable only for a tent camps, because for one night it is quite difficult for one night.
For heating, it is imperative to place a tent on a hill, preferably 700 m higher than the fire will be located. The fire should be made only from solid and even logs, as they will smolder for a long time. A thin stainless steel pipe, 2 m long, is brought to the fire. To the reverse side it is necessary to carry out a hose through which the tent will come.
Tent stove: types of designs and main characteristics
Classic tent stove shapes: rectangular and cylindrical (barrel-shaped). The latter has a high heat dissipation.
Paint Can Stove. EASY DIY Micro Hot Tent Heater.
The grate serves for air access (blowing) to the burning fuel.
From left to right: stove without afterburner, stove with afterburner, stove with remote afterburner
The afterburning chamber provides more complete combustion of fuel in the stove, keeps the heat that goes along with the smoke. Sometimes the afterburner serves as a spark arrester. Remote, it increases the heating area.
Brazier in the form of borov (bending of pipes) or in the form of a mettallic mesh in one of the segments of the pipe. He, in part, protects the roof from sparks.
These parts are optional, the stove may well work without them.
Stove weight. Depends on the design and material. Complicated. harder. Typically, tourist stoves for tents are made of sheet steel. The thinner the steel, the lighter the furnace, respectively, but it will also serve (burn out) faster. Even easier.made of titanium, usually homemade products welded by employees of defense enterprises. The average weight of the stove is 3-4 kg.
Pipe. By design, there are two types: from segments inserted into each other and a sheet of tin rolled into a pipe, fixed with wire.
The wire is sometimes replaced with ready-made rim rings, which are put on top of a rolled tin, some insert one ring of a smaller diameter into the inside of the structure to give it greater rigidity.
Simple and Cheap DIY Tent Wood Stove.
Typically, the tent stove pipe is installed vertically. So familiar. But there is also an inclined option, which has advantages: they use a shorter pipe, which means it is lighter and its heat transfer is higher. All the heat from the red-hot vertical pipe, along with the smoke, goes up, and from the inclined one remains in the tent.
Transportation. Usually, a tourist stove for tents is carried as a whole, having removed the legs and pipe segments from it and put it inside, although there are also completely collapsible models. If the pipe is made of sheet metal, then it unfolds and folds like a sheet of paper.
Carrying the all-welded oven body is convenient in drags. you can also load heavy things into it, such as canned food or an ax.
In the magazine “Tourist” for 1978. design solution was published. Zvereva: stove-drag for a ski trip. One of its ends is pointed, which makes the stove a kind of torpedo that can pass through bushes and stones.
DIY wood-burning stove for a winter tent
Homemade stove for a tent
Used a tent all my adult life. First, with his father, his old canvas from geology, then there were others, more modern.
However, there was never a need for a stove on winter hunts (and what else to do in the forest in winter?) did without a tent. Two years ago, my brother began to incite me to hunt along the flood in the upper reaches of the Vopi and along the Tsarevich.
For those who are not in the subject, I will explain hunting in mid-April for birds on the water is full of extreme sports. There is still knee-deep snow in the forest, the water in the river has risen, quite a lot of ice floes. Cold, rain and often snow. If you go out at dawn and return to the equipped dwelling, everything is fine.
But spend a week on a boat and in a tent by a fire, not being able to sleep properly and dry well, nafiK!
Here I realized that it was necessary to dance from the stove.
TTT to the proposed heating device was quickly determined:
Compactness in the transport position and weight that allows transportation in a boat (I have Orion-20) and in portable luggage (bag, backpack); 2. Minimal dimensions in the working position (thermal power is intended to be explicitly excessive for the available ongo-2 tent), determined by the fuel size (stick, broken on the knee) 40 cm; 3. The possibility of using the stove for cooking; the presence of a stove (preferably for two dishes); 4. Fire safety; Having searched the Internet for anything suitable (liked), I did not find anything and added one more item: 5. Manufacturability.
Started designing. The result is a box L40cm x W20cm x H20cm on legs 20 cm. Fire door and pissed (s) from one end, chimney from the opposite. Just a stove for two pans 40×20 cm. In the furnace grade grille throughout the dimension. The thickness of the furnace body is 3 mm, the diameter of the chimney is 50 mm.
I entrusted the manufacture of the fuselage to professionals (it is unrealistic to bend a three-ruble note without a bender), the rest I did myself. I cut through the firebox and made a door with a wrapper on it, drilled holes for air inflow and made a regulator strip from galvanized steel. The grate did not make a grate, just drilled holes in the sheet. Legs made of M10 stud (for.40cm) and 3/4″ pipes (l.20cm) welded nuts on the inside.side of the slab at the corners and inside the pipes. Chimney from a black pipe VGP 2 “(thread with two nuts (welded) semi-outlet for welding (welded) a straight pipe further on bandages for a clamp straight pipe sections 40 cm long).
Costs turned out: a couple of evenings of drawing in ArchiCAD and one day of welding-angle grinder-drill. 3000 for the manufacture of the hull and approx. 1000 pipe, style, hairpins (2 years ago). The first test was carried out without a tent.
It passed almost without remarks: the fuel caught fire quickly, after 10 minutes the stove became red hot, the water in the aluminum.army mug boiled in 4 minutes. Heating the plate was not uniform (judging by the grilled area) and moved from the furnace part to the chimney as the firewood burning. Also, red-hot areas appeared on the sidewalls. The legs near the floor warmed up to about 40-50 degrees (you can hold it with your hand). Burning time of one full bookmark approx. 2 hours Deficiencies were observed: smoke and drips of condensate from the junctions of the chimney pipes (in the upper half) and the flame backflow when the door is opened during combustion. After cooling and disassembly, there were no deformations.
The product was postponed until full-scale testing in winter.
As it used to happen in our villages, winter came. She also came to the Kaluga region, where we went to test the furnace in real conditions.
We cleared the snow (a specially trained son was used for this) and assembled a tent. Under the stove on the floor of the tent, they put galvanized sheets 20×40 cm with bends for connection (4 pcs, in total it turned out 80×40 cm). The ventilation opening of the tent, covered with a mesh, was backfilled, the window in the tent awning was opened. The chimney at the passage of the tent was wrapped with asbestos cloth (5-6 layers). The temperature outside was.28 degrees.
At first everything was fine firewood burned, the oven warmed, the joints almost did not smoke (apparently the best thrust in the frost, compared with the experienced in the summer). Despite the fully closed pods, the combustion was very vigorous necessary air passed through the slots in the case. As the experience has shown, it is not necessary, and so there is enough holes.
too heavy a pipe outweighed the entire structure back and, with the slightest manipulation, it hung on the tent, balancing on its hind legs (and even so the pipe turned out to be heavier than the entire stove); the small diameter of the chimney does not give normal draft with an open firebox. When the door was opened, a flame erupted and the tent instantly smoked, which, when tested on the street, did not cause much trouble, became unacceptable in a small volume; the thermal insulation of the passage through the fabric of the tent and awning turned out to be clearly insufficient; the asbestos heated up and everything melted; the area of protection of the floor when dismantling the tent turned out to be insufficient, there were about 5 burnt holes (although it’s impossible to sin here only on the stove, the tests were held in an informal setting, some members of the commission smoked, and since the burnouts are evenly distributed throughout the floor, it certainly couldn’t have done without gobies).
Conclusions:1. it is necessary to increase the diameter of the chimney and reduce its weight;2. it is necessary to make reliable passage units for the tent and awning, replacing the removable mesh and window of the awning;3. you need to increase the floor protection area from sparks and coals (and don’t smoke in a tent!);4. need to fix the tent
Tourist wood-burning stove (potbelly stove for a tent) without do-it-yourself welding
Usually the romantic mood from a camping trip passes quickly, especially if you spend the night gently in a damp tent. Although there are quite good options for stoves for such a forest house, for example, they can not only heat the tent, but also provide cooking and drying clothes. Today, such a stove in a tent is an autonomous heating system, which provides for both a smoke removal system and additional safety screens, but the main thing that distinguishes modern tourist stoves is lightness and economy.
