My hair is ≫ thick, porous, dry at the ends
What I expected from a hair dryer ≫ soft airflow; gentle drying of hair; ease of operation; long life.
Before buying this hair dryer, I used a regular “travel” hair dryer. It was very small, had only 1 power level and 2 heat modes (cool and warm). I would have loved to keep using it, but it got damaged on the road and I had to look for a replacement.
To buy a super expensive hair dryer at the time, I could not afford (student, the money is not so much). So was looking for the best value for money and quality. The reviews before buying did not read. And, to my surprise, this hair dryer a lot of positive feedback (what. ).
If I’m not mistaken, I bought a Rowenta hair dryer in the online store M.Video at a steep discount. Almost 50% off! How not to buy?! Now, by the way, also big discounts on hair dryers from Rowenta (almost the same model, just a different color).
I bought my hair dryer for ≈ 2.000. Maybe even cheaper, now I do not remember the exact figure. I remember that I got it quickly and I was very happy about it.

Let’s go straight to the hair dryer itself.
To my surprise, I even kept the box! This is what it means to disassemble the balcony!
The hair dryer box is the most common. It has a picture of the hair dryer itself and some general information from the manufacturer. There is a manual inside.
After 3 years of use the hair dryer is pretty worn out and has lost all of its appearance. But it should be noted that although in many places there are cracks from cracked paint and scratches, the appearance of the hair dryer is still decent. That’s a plus. The only upside.
There is a round nozzle that I have never used.
6 independently adjustable modes: 3 temperature and 2 airflow speeds
Oh, if you only knew what those modes are.
- Temperature mode 1 delivers a barely warm airflow. I couldn’t blow dry my hair with it! It will take at least 2 hours.
- 2 temperature mode hot. Very hot! I have no gap between mode 1 and 2. And it should be! 2 mode simply sizzles your hair. The only way to save myself was to hold the “snowflake” button and that gave me the optimal airflow.
- The 3rd temperature mode is just scalding. It is 2 times stronger in temperature than the 2nd mode. I can’t even dry my hair with it. It is impossible to even hold the handle of the hair dryer (it heats up in seconds from mode 3).
And how, you ask, do you dry your hair with these modes?! Excruciating, I tell you! I don’t understand the whole thing with mode 2. Logically it should be optimum temperature and comfortable for drying hair, but it is not! If you do not press that “snowflake”, the second mode hair dryer will burn all of your hair and hands in addition (hair dryer handle also heats up a lot in the 2nd mode).
There is also a so-called mode “RESPECT”:
RESPECT mode: 25% less dehydration compared to the maximum mode
Its purpose I do not understand at all. The airflow is 2 times less, the temperature is almost the same as in the second mode. And how do you dry your hair?! With such a weak airflow, it takes an hour to dry! An hour of your life! Do you need it??! Totally useless mode.
I also want to note an important point. The hair dryer is awfully heavy. It’s uncomfortable to hold. Over time, of course, the hand gets used to this uncomfortable handle shape, then the heaviness doesn’t go anywhere. After only 5 minutes of drying my hair my hand will hurt from the heaviness of the hair dryer. I had to take turns changing hands to dry my hair. The length of the cord, by the way, is only 1.8 m. It’s very short for me. I could barely walk into the bathroom and look at myself in the mirror (the outlet is in the hallway).
I will now show you HOW the hair dryer dried my hair.

Just a reminder that my hair is very porous and very frizzy. The natural drying process left my hair straight and smooth. The overall appearance of the ends looks soft and attractive.
But, unfortunately, my hair dries very slowly, especially at the roots of my head. The hair is completely dry only after 2.5-3 hours. I don’t have that much time, of course. Especially when I’m washing my hair in the morning and rushing to work.
And this is what my hair looks like after drying with a Rowenta hair dryer:
The ends are electrified, they’re in an ugly state of sticking out in all directions. It feels horribly dry and looks lifeless. Of course, after the hair dryer, I put a special serum on the ends, but it does not get better.
On average it takes me about 15-20 minutes to blow-dry my hair.
I would also like to say that my hair looked better after my road hair dryer than the Rowenta one! Never would have thought a normal hair dryer would be better than a “professional” hair dryer.

I wish it would finally die down on me. But he’s a survivor, the son of a bitch. It’s too bad to throw it away. I’m having a hard time with this.
Do not recommend this hair dryer under any circumstances! Save your hair! My next hair dryer will definitely not be a Rowenta brand! I do not know why, but after this hair dryer I have no confidence in this brand.
