How to disassemble the motor of the vacuum cleaner
We are talking about the motor of a vacuum cleaner Samsung SC 8854 2000 watts. which was replaced last December. On this process was written a previous article.
After much deliberation, I decided to disassemble it and see the severity of its failure.
The first thing to do. is to remove the fan guard. This is done with a hammer, it is gradually knocked down in a circle in the direction of the electric motor of the vacuum cleaner.

After removing the casing, take the impeller. It is attached with a single left threaded nut to the armature shaft. over, it is still glued with thread glue. To unscrew it you have to try very hard. There are a lot of tips on the internet to unscrew it:
- Make a slot in the shaft of the anchor with an engraver for an end screwdriver. Hold the shaft with a screwdriver and use a wrench to unscrew the nut.
- Stop the armature with a screwdriver and twist the nut.
I used a pneumatic wrench. Since I didn’t have an engraver and I couldn’t use a screwdriver to stop it, I took the easy way. Very good thread adhesive.

Unscrew the four screws of the bar where the upper bearing is pressed. In my case, when the bearing is loose, it is easily removed, and if not, you need to knock out the armature with the bearings from the back cover, picking up a mandrel for the size of the hole in the back cover.
Visual inspection of the armature found damage to the winding. The reason: the balls of the bearing passed between the armature and the stator, running (rotating) motor. Accordingly, it is jammed and smoky.
This armature needs to be rewound. I took the easy way and just replaced the motor in the vacuum cleaner.
Moving on. To remove the inner ring of the bearing collapsed it was necessary to saw it with a pneumatic angle grinder. And if you don‘t have one, you can do it with an engraver. The outer ring can easily be knocked out with a screwdriver.
The new bearing can be pressed in with a tube, which should be exactly the same size as the inner ring. And if the rear bearing has backlash, it should also be replaced, compress it with a puller.
Assemble everything else in reverse order.
