Review of the dehydrator Redmond RFD-0158: compact and convenient, but not without features
The first impression of the electric dryer Redmond RFD-0158 can be described in two words: small and neat. And it is equipped with the capabilities of an adult dehumidifier. And it is made in Russia import substitution in action.
In the Redmond RFD-0158 you can set the temperature and duration of drying, change the height of the trays. Not unimportant for devices in this price category and the ability to automatically turn off at the end of a specified time. There is not a single disadvantage with this appliance? We will get the answer to this question by conducting practical experiments.
Dehydrator packed in a box almost cube-shaped. Pictures of the unit and fresh fruits and berries look great on the black background. Careful study of the packaging will allow you to familiarize yourself with the technical characteristics, features and benefits of this device. Package features a carrying handle.
Inside the box was the device itself and a set of documentation operating instructions, warranty card and promotional materials. The dryer, packed in a plastic bag, is held in place by an exact match between the dimensions of the appliance and the package.
At first glance
As we mentioned above, the main characteristic of the Redmond RFD-0158 dryer is its compactness. This feature is especially valuable for owners of small city apartments or users who do not have the need to process a rich garden or garden produce. The classic aluminum mantovar is larger in size than the Redmond dryer. So the user shouldn’t have too much trouble storing the dehydrator or finding a place to put it during operation.
There is a control panel with touch buttons and a display at the front of the white base. Five trays are installed on top, which are covered with a lid. There are four oval vent holes on the surface of the cover. The lid is easy to lift and place on the trays by holding the central cam.
Cover and trays are made of transparent, blackened plastic. Transparent material lets you see the drying process. The height of 1.5 cm of the trays can be increased up to 3 cm by installing them on special ledges. Diameter of the trays is 26 cm. The diameter of the central opening for the free passage of heated air is 4 cm.
The plastic is of high quality, we have not noticed any scratches or chips. All parts fit together snugly and the trays can be placed in any position easily, without long stretching times.
The outer surface of the base is smooth, in the inner part of the drying chamber is a recess in which juice or liquid droplets can drip off the food. At the same time the solid panel without holes protects the fan and the heating element from moisture.
The diameter of the elevated part is 7.5 cm, the height is just under 2 cm.
On the bottom there are ventilation holes, a sticker with information about the product and four short legs with rubber inserts. Thanks to the anti-slip pads on the legs, the dryer stands firmly and stably on the table.
The power cord was a little longer than stated in the instructions. We consider a length of 118 cm to be sufficient for normal household use. There is no compartment for storing the cord.
Visual inspection left us with the most favorable impressions. High-quality performance, good assembly, convenient design, protected fan and fan, the small size and low price. what more can a resident of a megalopolis, not burdened with a summer cottage and buckets of crops want??
Traditionally for Redmond, the manual is made in the form of a brochure of format A6. The information in the document is provided in three languages, the Russian language being the first one. On the first pages you can read about the scheme of the dehydrator, the individual elements of the control panel and how to adjust the distance between the trays.
Then comes the more familiar information: safety precautions, technical specifications, and instructions for using the device, starting from unpacking it and ending with storage and transportation. The tables with recommendations about how to dry various foods at what temperature and for how long will be useful for a beginner. To our taste, a one-time study of the instruction manual is enough to start working successfully with the dryer.
The control panel is conveniently located. No buzzing noises are produced when the buttons are pushed. The user can understand the function of the four buttons even without studying the manual, so everything is so simple.
After plugging in a sound signal is heard, and the device goes into standby mode. Press the on/off button on the right side of the display to start the drying process. The appliance starts the drying cycle with a default setting of 8 hours at 35 degrees Celsius C. By pushing the left button, the changed parameter temperature or drying time is shown on the screen. Using the and buttons − The desired values can be set.
During the drying process, the display shows the value of time to the end of the process. When it has finished, the appliance beeps, stops the heating and fan and goes into stand-by mode.
Buttons react adequately; the numerals on the LED panel are glowing bright and can be seen very well even in very bright sunlight. On the whole, the operation of the Redmond RFD-0158 dehumidifier is obvious and very easy.
In addition to careful inspection for damage, chips and other defects, before the first use, the device should be cleaned wipe the body and washed in warm water with a detergent removable parts of the dryer.
The main advantage of the Redmond RFD-0158 dryer is its size: the device does not take up much space during operation and storage. The height of the trays is adjustable so that thicker pieces of food, not only thinly sliced material, can be dried as required. The holes in the trays are rather large and when drying very fine cut foodstuffs care should be taken that the dried pieces do not fall down onto the base. When drying herbs, for example, the instructions advise placing gauze on the drying tray.
In dehydrators with vertical airflow, foods on the lower levels dry faster than those on the higher levels, so you must periodically swap trays during the drying process. We moved the trays about once every 3-4 hours, with long drying once every 5 hours. The products lose moisture unevenly within the limits of one tray: the difference between the pieces of food placed in the center and around the perimeter is visible, this fact became especially apparent when drying squid fillets. At first glance, there are three fairly simple ways to combat uneven drying within a single tray:
- To control the quality of drying, remove the dried pieces from the trays
- initially stack the thinnest and smallest pieces of food closer to the center of the tray
- swap pieces in the middle of the process
Note that when drying fruits and vegetables, especially if it is required to dry and not to wilt them, the difference in the degree of drying within one level can be neglected. All the more so because this dryer is designed not so much for making and then storing dry foods for months at a time, but rather for making desserts, snacks, etc., that will be eaten rather quickly.
The device is easy to operate and switches itself off as soon as the process is completed, which means that you can leave it running overnight or during the working day.
Main concern is the temperature settings or the thermostat. Already in the first test we realized that there is something wrong with the temperatures. The problem will be described in more detail in the practical testing section below. One conclusion can be made: with a full load of the Redmond RFD-0158 dehydrator you can not be afraid of high temperatures and over drying products.
Otherwise we were satisfied with the Redmond RFD-0158 dehydrator. Products do not burn, not dried out, there is no need to move the pallets often, the device will shut itself off when finished working.
The manual recommends to clean the device after each use. The housing should be wiped with a slightly damp soft cloth. Removable parts should be washed with warm water and a mild detergent. Do not use abrasive or chemically aggressive agents for cleaning.
No problems with cleaning of the trays. As always, we soaked them for a while in warm water with a drop of detergent, and then cleaned them with a soft dishwashing brush.
The energy consumption figures measured with a wattmeter were:
interesting and useful are the energy consumption values over a period of time:
- per 1 hour of operation at a maximum temperature of 70 C the dryer consumes 0.083 kWh·ч;
- 1 hour of operation at a minimum temperature of 35 C 0.015 kW·ч;
- in 1 hour of operation at an average temperature of 55 C 0.048 kW·ч;
- For 10.5 hours of drying three trays of squid at the maximum temperature 0.793 kW·ч;
- 22 hours of melon drying at full load at maximum temperature 1.767 kW·ч;
- 1.948 kW for 19 hours for drying four pallets of tomatoes·ч.
Noise levels can be evaluated as low and are comparable to those of a first-speed cooker hood. If one is in the same room as the dryer, the low, even hum can be annoying for some people. No noise is heard in the other room.
Now tell us a little about the peculiarities of temperature regimes. The question arose because the bananas put on 60 C, after 4 hours of drying looked almost the same as when we started, except it was darker. We measured the temperature inside the dryer and the results made it clear: on the lowest level, the temperature was as high as 33,5 C, on the upper 30,5 C. Then we raised the temperature to a maximum of 70 C and after a certain time measured the temperature again, and after a few hours repeated the procedure. Numerical information is perceived better in tabular form:
|30 minutes after installation 70 C||37||34,1|
|after 8 hours||47,8||39,4|
|after 12 hours||55,2||33,1|
We were confused not by the temperature difference between the first and fifth level (it is absolutely understandable in this case), but by the discrepancy between the stated temperatures. For a more detailed check, we performed a series of measurements in an empty drying chamber 45 minutes after the temperature setting. Data are presented in the table.
As can be seen, even in an empty working chamber the air temperature does not reach the set temperature. This is especially noticeable at the maximum value the difference is almost 20 C. Obviously, in a dehydrator loaded with products, the temperature at the upper levels will be even lower. So, you don’t have to bother with temperature settings at all if you don’t want to dry delicate products like herbs. When drying fruits, berries and vegetables, you can set the maximum heat and the longest operating time. over, you don’t have to worry about the food being too dry: it’s up to 55 C on the bottom level, an extra hour or an hour and a half of operation does not make any difference.
The purpose of practical experiments to evaluate the uniformity of drying within a single tray and the ease of use of the dryer as a whole. We will see how high the trays are, whether the food sticks to their surface, we will find out how much food can fit on one tray at all.
The bananas were peeled and cut into even slices about 4 mm thick. We were able to put 860g of bananas on the four trays.
We set the temperature at 60 C, duration 10 hours. After 4 hours, however, increase the temperature to the maximum. at 70 C (according to the appliance’s settings) the bananas dried for another 13 hours. After that time the product was ready: the slices were perfectly cured, flexible and soft enough to be dehydrated. After looking, touching, and kneading the banana slices, we decided to add another 5 hours and see if the bananas would get crunchier or tougher.
After five hours, however, the bananas were still as soft and pliable. In 22 hours of operation (4 hours for 60 C and 18 hours at 70 C) the appliance consumed 1.467 kW·ч. The trays were interchanged five times.
Dried apples and kiwi
The kiwi was peeled, the apples were de-seasoned, and peeled as well. We put 536g of kiwi on two trays, and 580g of apples on three trays.
Apples reached a satisfactory result after 17 hours at maximum temperature. The trays were interchanged four times. Apples on the perimeter of the trays were the first to dry out after the 15th hour of operation of the dehydrator.
The kiwifruit took an additional 3 hours to completely dehydrate. The kiwis dried for a total of 20 hours. To clarify, these results were obtained with a full load of the dehydrator. Fewer products or thinner slices would have dried faster.
The fruit turned out great in taste, density and softness, dried rather than dried, soft and supple, yet completely dehydrated. Actually, this is the result normally achieved by drying at 45-55 C.
The melon was peeled and cut into small slices about 4-5 mm thick. Load the dryer completely with 880 grams of melon slices. At this point it became clear to us that the fast drying of the Redmond RFD-0158 could not be achieved, so we set the maximum temperature of 20 hours.
During this time the trays changed places 4 times. After the set time elapsed, we carefully examined the contents of the trays and removed sufficiently dried slices. The remaining slices were put on two trays. Another empty one was placed on top, in order to comply with the requirement of the manual to use the dehydrator with at least three trays. Set for two hours. In total it took 22 hours and 1.767 kW to dry the melons·hour of electricity.
Slices retained their light color, did not yellow or darken, but thinned considerably. Soft and supple to the breaking point. The melon can be dried in thicker slices, and larger, but in this case the process will be very long.
Well, having studied the features of the appliance, we can move on to the drying of delicate raw materials. For the protein dough this time we decided to use squid. The product needs to be prepared beforehand. Therefore, the carcasses were peeled of the insides and membranes, then cut into rings about 5 mm thick. Prepared the marinade: for 500 grams of water took a tablespoon of coarse salt, half a tablespoon of sugar, half a teaspoon of spicy smoked paprika. Place the squid in the brine for 4 hours.
Then we put it on trays. A total of three trays were dried. Squid is usually dried for 55-60 C for 5 to 7 hours. Knowing our test subject, we immediately set the maximum temperature for 8 hours. After the set time, the difference in the degree of drying of the pieces around the center hole and around the perimeter of the tray became apparent. We removed some of the squid rings that were ready from the trays, moved the raw pieces closer to the edges and put them to dry for another two and a half hours.
After 10.5 hours of drying time, all the squid slices were cooked. Product dried, flexible, does not break when bent, flesh is transparent.
Let’s finish our test with the dried tomatoes. Slivka tomatoes were sliced crosswise into 5-7 mm thick rounds. Stacked on a tray, salted, peppered, and sprinkled with sugar.
We set the maximum temperature for 18 hours. During this time we rotated the trays four times. At the beginning of the process, the juice dripped from the tomatoes onto the bottom of the dryer. The juice dripped, but no harm was done because the heating element and the fan are protected from moisture penetration. All the liquid accumulated in a depression at the bottom of the oven.
After 15 hours of drying, the tomatoes decreased in size, so we moved the small wet pieces from the central part of the tray to the periphery and added another 3 hours. At the end of the process almost all the tomatoes reached the desired degree of dehydration without turning into crispy, dry tomatoes. We put the pieces that were not dried enough on one tray and put them on the lower level of the dehydrator for another hour. The dehydrator consumed a total of 1.948 kW in 19 hours of operation·ч.
We put the dried tomatoes in a jar, put in fresh garlic slices, poured olive oil on them and put them in the fridge for a couple of weeks.
In our opinion, this dehydrator is a great choice for those users who like to cook, experiment and would like to have on the table desserts or snacks made of pure products without sugar, extra salt or other preservatives and flavorings. Redmond RFD-0158 dehydrator looks attractive, small in size and does not take much space during operation or storage. Through the transparent trays you can monitor the drying process and swap the trays when it seems necessary.
No need to change trays frequently, even when drying at the highest temperature. During the tests, we moved the trays about once every four hours. No fruits or vegetables on the lower layer dried out even if they were processed continuously overnight (about 7 hours). The auto shut-off function at the end of the time set by the user is handy. The drying parameters can be changed while the machine is in operation. The display either shows the set temperature or the remaining time to the end of the.
The dryer can be used quite successfully, keeping in mind only one peculiarity: The air inside the chamber is not even close to the declared temperature of 70 C, so that it is not necessary to experiment with the drying temperature. In our opinion, Redmond RFD-0158 is a good compact and inexpensive dryer for the city dweller, who has no tasks to process crops or to dry a sack of apples for the winter.
Review of the Redmond RFD-0172 electric food dryer
Today we will review and test the convection dehydrator (fruit and vegetable dryer) RFD-0172 company Redmond. This type of devices is not new for us, and we do not expect miracles from them (especially considering that the design of our dryer is very standard) However, we note that this model, according to the manufacturer, can also be used as a yogurt maker (jars for this, however, will have to buy separately). So the main task for us to check how well the electric dryer copes exactly with drying different products and whether it is convenient to use.
Contrary to popular misconception, this is not the time after which the device will necessarily break. However, after this period, the manufacturer ceases to bear any responsibility for its performance and has the right to refuse to repair it, even for a fee.
The device has a stylish black box, on which we see a picture of our dryer. On the side edges of the box the characteristics of the device, its distinctive features are listed, and also here we can see a QR-code, leading to the mobile application “Cooking with Redmond”, where the producer promises a lot of free recipes especially for our dehydrator.
The box has a multi-layered lid that opens in different directions. Plastic carrying handle in the center. Since the box is bulky and the handle is sturdy, count it as a plus for convenience.
- dryer housing
- 5 classic trays
- 1 marshmallow tray
- The lid
- Documentation package (manual, warranty card, Redmond promotional offers)
At first glance
After taking the dehydrator out of the box, we were pleasantly surprised by its stylish appearance. The body is made of black plastic, and the control panel has a sticker imitating steel, all 5 plastic tiers have a gray tint, only the lid of the device remained completely transparent.
3 Best Budget Food Dehydrators to Buy on Amazon
Under the lid we found a marshmallow tray, it’s made of white slightly translucent plastic. The diameter of the tray is 30 centimeters.
The five trays with a diameter of 32 cm and a height of 4 cm, stacked on top of each other, are made of a dark, translucent plastic. Two small but pleasant details have been registered by us at once: the rim of each tray is easily detachable from the peorized bottom, which should simplify washing and drying; also each of the five trays has special plastic spurs on its circumference, which, if put one on another, increase the height between the trays, which means that you can dry larger pieces of food if you want.
The 12.5 cm high plastic casing contains the heating element and the fan that disperses the hot air over the levels.
On the bottom of the case there are two ventilation holes and four rubberized feet. A nameplate with brief technical information about the appliance is located between the rear legs, and a little closer to the edge the power cord comes out.
On the top of the whole construction there is a lid with four oblong holes for air outlet (they are needed to get rid of the excessive moisture).
The manual in Russian is contained in a small book and is only 10 pages long. The manufacturer told us about safety precautions, technical characteristics, how to use the device, and how to take care of it (in general it is very basic, as for all dryers).
At the end we are suggested to read the tables with the recommended temperature settings for different types of products, including yogurts. There we are also advised to download a branded app to access a large library of recipes.
On the front of the dryer there is a control panel and a display that shows the set/remaining operating time and the set temperature.
The control panel consists of a display and four buttons: on./off., the temperature/time setting and and −.
After plugging in the device and pressing the power button, we immediately see on the display the temperature of 30 C and by using the and − we can adjust the desired temperature up to 70 C in increments of 5 C.
Then you may press the temperature/time setting button and switch to the time setting or wait for 2 seconds and the device will switch from the temperature setting to the time setting itself. You can specify the desired time from 0.5 to 72 hours in increments of 0.5 hours.
Following the recommendations, we first wiped the body of the product with a damp cloth and let it dry. All removable parts have been thoroughly washed using a gentle detergent.
The producer warned us that we might smell something bad the first time we switched the device on, but we didn’t smell anything. We first had apples in the dryer and after half an hour we began to smell the wonderful smell of apples, without any extraneous.
The manufacturer also draws our attention to the fact that during the operation it is obligatory to use at least three trays. We should not forget that the products on the bottom three pallets will be dried faster. This was to be expected and we occasionally swapped trays in and out to get an even result.
Our marshmallow disc was a bit bent, but this is most likely the peculiarity of this particular device. However, since this happens, it probably makes sense to subject it to inspection before you buy it.
The appliance is quiet enough but we don’t like to leave it on all night long since we prefer to sleep in complete silence and the snapping sound of heating and humming creates a slight discomfort.
The trays are practically uncontaminated with moderately moist foods, such as apples, bananas, mushrooms, or herbs. You only need to rinse them with water and wipe them dry for cleaning. When drying mango, salted fish, juicy citrus fruits, you may encounter dried-on food fibers or dried-on salt stains. Then it’s best to take the trays apart by detaching the rim from the grid and give each part a good wash with a sponge and detergent, then let them dry.
The upper part of the body is not removable, and food can fall on it during drying (for example, small pieces of fish fell there). Some of this waste can be gathered with a napkin, and to shake out the smaller pieces (herbs, loaf crumbs), you will have to turn the whole dryer base.
The temperature in the dryer is regulated by turning the heaters on and off. When they are heated, the appliance consumes from 500W and more (our recorded maximum is 656W when operating at 70 degrees).
Using a dipstick thermometer, we measured the temperature during cooking on the top and bottom trays. At the bottom the temperature corresponded to the set temperature, but starting from the fourth pallet at the top the temperature was lower by 5 C.
In 6 hours of drying plum marshmallows and bananas at 65 C the appliance consumed 1.504 kW·ч. In 6 hours of drying apples at 60 C the appliance consumed 1.535 kW·ч. After 8 hours of drying mango at a temperature of 60-65 C unit consumed 2.041 kW·ч. Drying the zander for 3.5 hours at 70 C the appliance consumed 1.033 kW·ч.
Useful area of the dryer was approximately 0.35 m².
To test the performance of our dehydrator we dried seasonal and tropical fruits and dried fish.
To make marshmallow, we took ripe plums and blended them into a smooth puree with bits of skin. It was decided not to add sugar.
Our fruit pulp was thick and we easily spread it evenly over the marshmallow tray. It’s a pity that there is only one tray in the set, because, of course, with such a long drying time (we had 6 hours), we would like to get as much of the final product as possible.
The marshmallow baked almost evenly, only in two places when separating the fruit sheet from the tray we encountered a stickier and slightly viscous consistency, which, however, also without problems separated from the plastic.
We cut our pancake into several pieces and rolled them up into tubes. The result is a very tasty and healthy treat, which even children will like because of its interesting appearance.
To make delicious and tender dried apples, we peeled them beforehand and cut them into equal thickness slices.
We ended up with several full trays.
Throughout the dehydration process, we rotated the apples around so that they dried evenly.
We had wonderful, slightly stretchy, soft apples that even our grandmother liked and were just the right consistency. You can also see the finished dried mango in the photo.
We bought several ripe mango fruits and cut them into small slices of about the same thickness.
The mangoes were very juicy, so we dried them for a long time. 8 hours.
At the end of this time we had very nice and sweet slices, which were really delicious instead of tea time.
A picture of the dried mango is pictured above, on a platter with apples.
For the dough, we took some large bananas, cut them into thin circles and spread them loosely on trays.
The banana trays also had to be swapped out several times during the drying process so that each tier got enough warm air.
The banana chips are ready: they can be eaten with cottage cheese or added to your favorite breakfast cereal.
We took frozen pike-perch fillets on the skin, and after a slow defrosting, we salted them. We added ground cayenne pepper to the salt.
After a day of salting the fish hung in the sun for a while (the excess moisture drained from it) and became ready for further manipulation.
We skinned and sliced the filet.
We put the slices on some trays and we put them in the dryer for 6 hours, so we got the recommendation from the Internet.
However, after 3.5 hours at 70 degrees the fish was already cooked to perfection.
We have a wonderful snack without any harmful additives.
The dryer we got this time really impressed us with its cleverness. Simple solutions in design, such as convenient grids with narrow holes, through which most of the products do not fall through it is nice and makes it easier to use the device. Special plastic ledges on the trays that when inserted into each other to increase the distance between the tiers is also a small but important detail.
We are satisfied with almost everything in the dryer, the only things that upset us were the deformed tray for marshmallows and the different temperatures on the upper and lower decks. The latter is typical of dehumidifiers with this design and can be solved by regularly rearranging the trays (or the specific arrangement of the products to be dried by tiers). Otherwise, note the pleasant design, small weight, ease of use and compliance with the stated characteristics. You might not need an electric tumble dryer in every kitchen but if you like dried fruit, think about the contents of food and healthy eating then this appliance has its place among your kitchen utensils. It will help you avoid unnecessary ingredients and sugar in store-bought foods and stock up on vitamins for fall and winter.
Review: Redmond RFD-0157 fruit and vegetable dryer. For apartments with inexpensive electricity. No tech gimmicks and cooking simple foods.
I made dried tomatoes (recipe below), dried fruits from apples and bananas in the first two months of using my Redmond electric dehydrator. I will tell you how much really takes products and time to dry the above products once, and how much you get at the output.
According to the manufacturer, the appliance can be used for drying:1. mushrooms;2. herbs and spices (probably only large ones);3. Cereals (probably except for the small ones);4. pasta;5. berries;6. vegetables;7. fruits.
Attention! All trays with holes. Choose foods that will not fall and crumble on the heating element. The manufacturer recommends putting one layer of gauze on the top tray when drying herbs (?). I believe you should put it on the bottom tray.
The device is very easy to use:. load trays with fruits or vegetables. plugged into a 220 V socket. set the temperature. select the desired time. after one to two hours, replace the trays;
And now a little more detail on the operation of technology (knowing how we do not like to read the manuals to products, I will try to write an easier way).
1) Wash the trays, lid and base before drying. Allow the dryer to run for 1 hour at a maximum temperature of 70 degrees before loading vegetables or fruit.
2) Insert the plug into the socket. the red indicator bars will appear, indicating that the appliance is ready for drying.
3) Press the power button. it is located on the control panel on the right:
The default drying temperature of 30 degrees appears in place of the red bars.
4) With the buttons below set the desired temperature: (plus) increase or. (minus) reduce t. Each press allows you to increase or decrease the temperature by 5 degrees.
Minimum temperature. 30 gr., maximum. 70 gr.5) Press the drying time selection button:
Drying time 8:00 appears instead of degrees. As before using the plus and minus to set the required time. Each press of the button changes the time by 30 min. You can use the Redmond dryer from 1 to 72 hours.
The RFD 0157 dryer turns on automatically if you slow down a little. Do not turn it off, set the time. The temperature and time can be changed during the operation of the device without the risk of breaking it (in my experience).
6) After a test run, you can place fruits and vegetables, as well as other foods on the trays at a distance of each piece for minimum drying time.
7) Place the pallets on the protective disk of the heating element. You can use two positions with the locking elements. “One to one” for maximum pallet distance, with a shift to either side results in minimum distance.
There are 6 locking elements on each pallet.
8) Turn on the household appliance with the desired drying time and temperature.
9) When the appliance is in operation, change the trays one by one. Two hours for even cooking of dried fruit.
For example, I remove all trays at the same time, then remove the lid. I put the topmost tray on the base, put the four other trays on top of the base and close the lid. It is not necessary to turn off the vegetable and fruit dryer.
7) When the set time has elapsed, a buzzer sounds and red indicator bars appear on the control panel. Unplug the plug from the socket.
9) Wash the trays on both sides and the lid. Wipe the bottom of the appliance and the base from the outside with a damp cloth.
I did not have time to take pictures. turn out like this (!) It tasted good to be eaten quickly. We cook according to the adapted recipe:
1) Take Prunes. frequently used and recommended.2) Cut into 4 pieces, remove all seeds and pulp.3) Spread slices on paper towels, liberally salt the insides of the vegetables and flip for maximum juice removal for 15. 30min.4) Turn the tomato pieces upside down, sprinkle with salt, drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with Italian herbs (I use a ready mix of spices).5) Carefully put the vegetables on a tray. Put thin slices of garlic in some slices. One cog per tray.6) Let dry for 16 hours at 70 degrees, changing the trays every 2 hours.7) We put the ready slices in a jar and pour the dressing: 50 ml of olive oil, 4 slices of garlic, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of Italian herbs.8) Freeze dried tomatoes in the refrigerator for 24 hours and serve.

Electric dryer REDMOND RFD-0158. reviews
I really enjoyed making compote mix. Dried Bananas. apple slices. I dry mushrooms, they store all winter long and take up minimal space. I love dried citrus fruit. it can be used to warm up in the winter cold, add to tea, coffee or other favourite drinks, add to baked goods, or simply be used for interior decoration. You can make marshmallow, it’s a very tasty treat, and most importantly natural and healthy. You can make homemade potato chips, crunchy.
