Une trottinette bien plus confortable
Visuellement, les habitués des trottinettes électriques de Xiaomi ne seront pas vraiment dépaysés puisque l’Electric Scooter 4 Pro reprend le design des modèles qui l’ont précédée, avec ses câbles apparents noirs et rouges. En revanche, la conception de cette trottinette premium a été améliorée par rapport à l’ancienne version, la Scooter Pro 2 : la largeur du deck a en effet été portée à 16 cm (au lieu de 14,5 cm), ce qui laisse davantage de place pour les pieds lors de la conduite.
Autre amélioration : la taille de la trottinette a été augmentée de 5 mm, pour gagner en ergonomie, et les pneus mesurent désormais 10 pouces, et non plus 8 pouces comme sur la Scooter 3. Elle n’est donc pas un poids plume, et il faudra quelques efforts pour la porter une fois pliée lors de vos déplacements intermodaux, par exemple.
Une endurance bien au rendez-vous
Côté performances, la Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro embarque un moteur d’une puissance nominale de 350 W et maximale de 700 W. Cela lui permet sans aucun problème de tenir une vitesse maximale de 25 km/h, conformément à la réglementation française, et ce, même sur une pente inclinée jusqu’à 20 %. Atteindre cette vitesse maximale se fera d’ailleurs en un temps très réduit. Concernant la conduite, la trottinette est maniable et promet une belle stabilité. Le système de freinage sera quant à lui très efficace, ce qui est rassurant.
Comme il est d’usage sur les trottinettes Xiaomi, vous trouverez sur le guidon de la Scooter 4 Pro un écran qui affichera la vitesse actuelle, le mode de conduite choisi ou encore l’état de la batterie. Justement, en parlant d’autonomie, sachez que la Scooter 4 Pro se révèle très endurante puisqu’elle est en théorie capable de fonctionner durant 45 km avant de tomber en rade. Attention, Xiaomi annonce une autonomie de 55 km, mais dans les faits, le rayon d’action maximum indiqué par la trottinette est de 45 kilomètres. Une durée à nuancer, évidemment, selon le poids de l’utilisateur, qui influe sur l’autonomie. Pour ce qui est de la recharge, la patience sera de mise puisqu’il faudra la laisser branchée entre 8 et 9 heures.
Xiaomi launches new Ninebot Plus scooter, laser projector, and IoT toothbrush
Xiaomi reaffirms their position as IoT player in the Chinese market by announcing three new IoT products last weekend. The Chinese electronics firm is launching a new Ninebot Plus e-scooter, the Mi Laser Projector, and… a toothbrush.
Ninebot Plus
The Ninebot Plus is an update to the Ninebot mini e-scooter. It now features a strengthened magnesium alloy chassis, with support for loads up to 100kg. It also offers up to 35km of travel on a single battery charge (significantly further than the 22km offered on Ninebot mini).
The new iteration also comes with a remote control, so users are not restricted to controlling the e-scooter via a smartphone. They can also choose to attach an optional Mi Ninebot Plus Camera for photo-taking.
The Ninebot Plus will be available in China from 11 th July 2017 at CNY 3,499 (~S 711.15).
Mi Laser Projector
The Mi Laser Projector is a “cinema-level projector TV” that acts as a complete home theater package, with a built-in speaker system and the Mi TV interface packed in with additional content. It uses ALPD 3.0, a laser light source technology developed by Appotronics, and a custom DLP solution made by Texas Instruments.
The projector itself offers Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels resolution) screening anywhere from 80 to 150-inches with 5,000-lumens brightness. It has 3,000:1 contrast levels, and it covers 85% of the NTSC color gamut. The speaker system has two tweeters and two woofers, while the entire system relies on three HDMI slots, an audio out port, a USB 3.0 port, S/PDIF support, Wi-Fi, and Ethernet connectivity.
The Mi Laser Projector will be available at CNY 9,999 (~S2032.23) on 4 th July 2017.
Mi Ultrasonic Toothbrush
The IoT toothbrush by Xiaomi marks itself as the company’s first foray into the personal health care industry. Mi Ultrasonic Toothbrush uses ultrasonic technology to create vibrations at 31,000 times per minute for “powerful cleaning”. The built-in 700mAh rechargeable battery can last 18 days, based on a twice-a-day usage.
Other features include its IPX7 water-resistance rating and customizable smartphone app that offers custom brushing modes. The toothbrush will start retailing in China on 18 th July 2017, at CNY199 (~S 40.45).

Would give zero stars if possible.Purchased a Mobot Leader from them in January (deposit paid) and eventually received in February. Since then, no end of issues.The first bike, the folding mechanism snapped open on my ride home whilst on a 4 lane road. Replacement was ordered and arrived mid Feb. Brakes on were given to me in a dangerous condition and had to be fixed.Returned in March due to continuing brake issue and a constant creaking (turns out the mechanism was once again an issue). At that point I’ve given up and handed it back, requesting a refund.I’ve been offered two solution:- 1000 (purchase price was 1500)- Replacement bike (original model not available and too tall to fit othersNeither solution is acceptable and I have constantly been requesting a refund and have still not received. I do not think this is unreasonable given the multitude of issues, delays, time spent sitting in their shop waiting for fixes and time spent requesting refunds.Will update this once a resolution has been reached but I am so tired of asking them for a refund for goods that have not been delivered in the expected manner.
